However, that benefit will soon no longer be available to Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders. Here’s what you need to know.

This Priority Pass perk is going away for some cardholders

If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, you should be aware that one of the benefits included with your complimentary Priority Pass Select membership is being eliminated soon. On July 1, 2024, you’ll no longer be able to use your membership to get discounts on food and drinks at participating Priority Pass airport restaurants.

Those with an eligible Priority Pass Select membership can visit select airport restaurants and redeem dining credits, which they can then use to purchase food and drinks off the restaurant menu. Over 30 airport restaurants worldwide participate in the program.

Most restaurants offer Priority Pass Select cardholders up to $28 in credit or $56 for up to two people. This added perk was helpful for travelers who visited airports without Priority Pass airport lounges or could not enter a lounge due to capacity limits. Not having to pay out of pocket for pricey airport food felt like a win.

Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders should be aware of this upcoming change so they can plan accordingly for their next trip. Luckily, they can continue to use their Priority Pass Select membership cards to access eligible airport lounges. So, the included complimentary benefit still provides value, especially for those who fly often.

Is the Chase Sapphire Reserve® still worth it?

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® has a hefty annual fee of $550, so it’s in your best interest to ensure you can use its benefits before you apply for this card. It may not be your ideal rewards credit card if you can’t take advantage of the perks provided. But if you’re a frequent traveler, you may find the perks included with this travel card worthwhile.
